24 PESOS is one of the most exciting bands on the blues scene today. With catchy original songs that feature saw-tooth Dobro guitars, searing harmonicas, a funky old school rhythm section and a greasy Hammond B3, the band’s sound is eclectic and infectious. They burst on to the scene in 2008 and it is testament to their talent that they have already gained such popularity that they have played over 150 shows throughout Europe and the UK in the last year, including the Colne Blues Festival, Bluesin@out Festival (France), Maryport Festival, The Jazz Café and Ronnie Scotts as well as live sessions for Jazz FM and the BBC.
We met up with the lads in their Forest Hill "Blues Cave" rehearsal studio just before New Year's for a preview of some of their new tunes & a chat. See if you can spot the special 24 Pesos holiday greeting to 606's Steve Rubie - thanks guys!
