““Gina Foster…is an incredibly talented and versatile vocalist””
Gina Foster, who is probably best known for her work with the iconic group “Swing Out Sister”, is a truly gifted and impressive singer. Perhaps most familiar to those at the Club for her shows here with her friend Beverley Skeete (Rhythm Kings), and the "Joni's Soul" group, Gina is renowned as one of the most soulful session vocalists around and has worked prolifically in jazz, R&B, groove, pop and dance music with high profile artists including Eric Clapton, Sinead O’Connor and many more. Although a regular here at the Club, tonight Gina will be returning to the 606 with her own, hand picked, band to perform for the first time a set featuring not just the classic Groove and contemporary repertoire for which she is so well known, but also a number of her own originals. Over to Gina for a description of the evening: "I will talk about the singers who inspired me; Nancy Wilson, Joni Mitchell, Sarah Vaughan, Gladys Knight, Chaka Khan, Deniece Williams and Karen Carpenter, performing their songs as well as some of my own". This promises to be a feast of great singing and Gina has put together a fantastic band to help power the evening along, including Rob Barron on piano and keyboards, James Pusey on guitar, Steve Pearce on bass and Neal Wilkinson on drums. A very special night.
