“…a fine…drummer with an infectious feel. His gigs are ...invariably enlivened by some top class guests”

"THE ROYAL SCAMMERS"

Jeremy is a powerful and highly impressive drummer, who is equally at home playing pop, rock, funk or straight ahead jazz. Jeremy’s CV is vast, including work with the likes of Tom Jones, The Finn Brothers, Madeleine Peyroux, Gary Barlow, Robbie Williams, Joe Cocker, Echo and the Bunnymen, Jason Rebello, Eurythmics (w/Stevie Wonder) and Tina Turner. The regular drummer with American icon Sheryl Crow for over 7 years, Jeremy toured the world (twice!) with his friend Noel Gallagher’s “High Flying Birds” and is currently one of the two featured drummers with the iconic band King Crimson... you get the idea, he's very good! An old friend of the Club Jeremy has, however, found time in his busy schedule to put together this tribute to one of the most iconic bands to come out of the USA, Steely Dan. Co-founded by Walter Becker and Donald Fagen in 1972 this band, of which those two musicians were the core members, over a somewhat tempestuous 40 year period produced a series of iconic albums, including The Royal Scam, Aja and Gaucho and more recently Two Against Nature and Everything Must Go. These multi-award winning albums have to date sold over 40 million copies worldwide and include classic songs such as Rikki Don't Lose That Number, Deacon Blues and Hey Nineteen. For his gig tonight Jeremy has put together a World Class 14-piece band to pay tribute to this band, which as well as being one of the most popular, long-lived and successful bands of its generation is also that rare thing, a commercial band that is also widely admired and respected amongst musicians as well.  Featuring the wonderful singers Andy Caine (Tommy Blaize) and Sumudu (Jason Rebello, Dionne Warwick) with Paul Stacey (Black Crowes, Claire Martin) on guitar, Dave Arch (Tommy Blaize Band, Strictly Come Dancing Band) and Gary Sanctuary on piano/keyboards, plus a fantastic horn section that includes Jim Hunt (Amy Winehouse) on sax and backing vocalists that include Louise Clare Marshall (Jools Holland) tonight’s gig promises to be quite exceptional. With the emphasis on great Groove and some timeless songs from the “Steely Dan” canon this gig was intended to be a tribute to the band, but since it's inception has now also become a tribute to Steely Dan co-founder Walter Becker, who sadly passed away last September. So expect something very special indeed!  Booking definitely advised.
