A positive cornucopia of some of the finest musicians in the UK are gathering at the Club this afternoon to remember a uniquely talented friend and colleague, the multi Grammy Award winning studio engineer Steve Price. Having started out in the mid 80's at the highly acclaimed CTS Studios, Steve went on to become the engineer of choice in multiple fields, including the BBC's Frozen Planet series as well as studio work with the likes of Rod Stewart, Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, Robbie Williams, Andrea Bocelli and Diana Krall. Widely considered to be one of the finest engineers in the UK Steve was awarded not one but two Grammy's, in 2012 for his work on the Adele album ’21’, and in 2015 for Sam Smith's Record of the Year ‘Stay With Me’. The list of musicians who will be performing this afternoon includes the cream of the UK studio scene, The Tommy Blaize Band (for whom Steve engineered and co-produced their album "Don’t Ya Love Life"), the Multi-Award winning composer and saxophonist John Altman, the Award winning jazz trumpeter and composer Guy Barker MBE, the Grammy Award winning trumpet player and composer Steve Sidwell and the Award winning composer and conductor Debbie Wiseman MBE. Steve's friends and colleagues will be getting together to remember this warm, witty and highly respected man, so expect plenty of fun and unexpected contributions from some of the finest musicians in the world.
