A six piece jazz/latin group which I (Steve Rubie) lead, and suffice it to say I think the guys in the band are just great! The pianist, Ugo worked for many years with the singer Carmel, Dill, the bass player is visiting professor at both the Guildhall, Nick the drummer has worked with just about everyone, including "Loose Tubes" and Tenita Tikeram, the percussionist, Dawson is generally recognised as one of the most versatile and experienced players on the scene, and the singer Guida was a regular vocalist with American jazz/funker Ronnie Laws. The music is an infectious blend of Brazilian Samba, jazz/latin and Soul, and we all have a great time! |
