Record producer, broadcaster, raconteur, pianist oh, and one of Europe’s finest male jazz vocalists, Ian Shaw has it all. Named Best Vocalist of the Year twice(!) at the BBC Jazz Awards and most recently 2018 Parliamentary Jazz Awards "Vocalist of The Year", Ian is a huge talent with the most engaging personality and an ability to make every song his own.

On Saturday the 15th January from 11am-5pm, Ian will be leading a masterclass at the 606 Club. This is an opportunity to get first-hand advice from one of the UK’s finest singers and will be limited to 8 participants. The class will cover all round aspects of performing, including:

:: choice of material
:: how to practise with (and without) a pianist or guitarist
:: range and choice of keys
:: shaping songs and storytelling
::  using breath
:: getting the best sound on stage

The essence of the day is to perform to the group - enjoying and benefitting from the support and ears of Ian and your fellow singers! A secure and fun group spirit will enable participants to improve their technique and sharpen their performance skills, while demonstrating individual singer/performer issues that can be shared and improved upon as the day unfolds.

The cost for the class is £100 and again, numbers are limited to 8 participants. (There's also an option to attend as an observer only for £40.
