Chris Allard/Ross Stanley
Tonight we will be featuring guitarist Chris Allard and pianist/organist Ross Stanley performing material from their recent duo album “Tortugas”. An impressive guitarist Chris Allard has an enviable reputation, working with a host of high-profile talents (Jacqui Dankworth, Gwyneth Herbert, Dave O’Higgins…) An acclaimed bandleader, he has released four albums under his own name and his playing is characterised by a graceful and melodic fluidity. Ross Stanley is one of the busiest musicians in the UK with an extraordinarily impressive and diverse resume. A Yamaha artist, Hammond endorsee and two-time British Jazz Award winner, he has performed with the likes of Jamie Cullum, Hamish Stuart, Tom Jones, Michael Bublé, and Simply Red. These two consummate musicians have joined forces to create an impressive set that is as coherent as it is surprising. Highly recommended.
