Join award-winning jazz vocalist Louise Balkwill for an evening of hidden gems from The Great American Songbook, original vocalese and burning scat. The 2022 winner of the Riga Jazz Stage international jazz voice competition, Louise has been hailed as one of the UK’s finest vocal improvisers and storytellers, with fans including jazz cream-of-the-crop Liane Carroll, Ian Shaw, Claire Martin and Leroy Jones. Along with her band (Chris Eldred-piano, Theo Malka-Wishart-bass, and Joshua Walker-Martin-drums) Louise will be performing songs from her debut album “First Class”, as well as her celebrated original vocalese. With their undeniable synergy, the group breathes new life into repertoire from the golden age of jazz and beyond.
