17 March: Closed for now....
17 March 2020
Following the statement by the Prime Minister yesterday (Monday 16th) the 606 Club, along with the other major Jazz Clubs in London, has today made the difficult decision to temporarily close our doors. Although we recognise that this will have a serious impact on those who rely on us, in particularly the many musicians who perform here, the wellbeing of our customers, staff and musicians must always be our primary concern.
We will be following the advice from Public Health England on a daily basis and as soon as it is considered safe and reasonable for us to re-open we will do so immediately.
In the meantime we will stay in touch on our various Social Media platforms, sharing news, music and opinion pieces.
We would also like to take this opportunity to offer our best wishes and support to all those affected by this situation. Not only the many musicians who will have temporarily lost their livelihoods, but also all those who have been adversely affected by the recent turn of events, not least of course, those in hospital to whom we wish a speedy recovery.
Stay well and take care everyone... we will get through this.
Steve and the team at the 606 Club
