A Mother’s Day Treat with Kate Peters and Sam Dunn
11 March 2020
Mothering Sunday is the ultimate excuse to treat Mum to a lovely time…and what better way to give her the thanks she deserves then by heading to the Six on Sunday, 22nd March to revisit the classic jazz duo of Ella Fitzgerald and Joe Pass with vocalist Kate Peters and her quintet, which features special guest guitarist Sam Dunn.
Fitzgerald and Pass’ collaborations throughout the 1960’s and 70’s led them to become one of the best known (and loved) partnerships in jazz history. Vocalist Kate Peters' exquisite tone and gift for nuance, coupled with guitarist Sam Dunn’s delicacy and control, makes for a satisfying revival. Beautiful ballads and swing tunes from the Great American Songbook performed with affection and aplomb. This fantastic quintet also includes the wonderful talents of pianist Rob Barron, bassist Stu Barker, and drummer Steve Brown. Oh and great news ... we'll be removing the music charge for all Mums at the end of the night!
