Sadly we have to report that Brian Kellock passed away on the 27th May 2025. ukjazznews.com/rip-brian-kellock-1962-2025/
As a result the following event has been cancelled:
For more than three decades Edinburgh-born and based Brian Kellock has led his own, hugely popular, trio as well as being the first-call pianist for visiting International and A-list UK artists such as Scott Hamilton, Ken Peplowski, Sheila Jordan, Jim Mullen, Liane Carroll, Claire Martin and Alan Barnes who appreciate his swinging style, his skills as a sensitive accompanist, his spontaneity and his sense of humour. In recent years, he has headlined numerous concerts, recordings and tours with the Scottish National Jazz Orchestra, cemented links in Australia with trumpeter James Morrison and appeared annually at the Glasgow, Edinburgh and Copenhagen Jazz Festivals.
His many accolades include Best CD and Best Instrumentalist at the BBC Jazz Awards, Creative Scotland Award, Herald Angel Award, Jazz Musician of the Year 2011 at the Parliamentary Jazz Awards and Best Instrumentalist at the Scottish Jazz Awards 2019. You get the idea, he’s very good! Brian's highly praised 2019 album, "Bidin’ My Time" was his first solo piano recording, while his most recent release, "Think About It" (Thick Records) was met with considerable accolades.
“huge variety, the playing is immaculate and deeply felt…and yet Kellock’s sublime artistry at the piano is always worn lightly” London Jazz News
A master musician he will be much missed.
