Alex Clarke
A finalist in the 2020 BBC Young Jazz Musician of the Year competition, winner of the Rising Star category in the 2019 British Jazz Awards and a three-time nominee in the Parliamentary Jazz Awards, Alex Clarke is amongst the most in-demand and versatile young saxophonists emerging on the British jazz scene. Her fluent, melodic, style and warm, round, tone fit perfectly with the straight-ahead jazz standard and bebop repertoire she performs. She includes work at all the major UK jazz venues alongside the likes of Alan Barnes, Alex Garnett, Alec Dankworth, Bruce Adams and Art Themen and her 2022 album release “Only A Year” was received with much acclaim. She'll be joined on the stand by her terrific quartet, Dave Newton-piano, Dave Green-bass & Steve Brown-drums. A swinging gig from a real talent.
