Rachel Sutton with special guest Tommaso Starace
“bursting-with-life stage presence...a must see”
Cabaret Scenes
Rachel Sutton trained at The Welsh College of Music and Drama and her background in theatre is at the core of every performance. With a rich tone and sense of swing that is both exciting and moving, Rachel performs her own arrangements of classics from The American Songbook, together with her beautiful original compositions which have been hailed as 'a revelation' by Jazz Views. A 606 favourite, Rachel’s winning onstage persona will charm any audience, and she has performed as both an actress and singer in the UK and abroad to outstanding reviews. Her album “A Million Conversations” was received with considerable acclaim and she will be releasing her highly-anticipated second record, ‘Realms’ later in the year. Alongside her rhythm section featuring Roland Perrin (Dudu Pakwana, Brotherhood of Breath)-piano Rachel has asked the excellent saxophonist Tommaso Starace (Billy Cobham, David Liebman, Kenny Wheeler) to be her special guest. The combination of Rachel’s swinging, engaging style and Tommaso’s fluent, bebop-influenced, playing promise to make this a fun night of great jazz and beyond.
