Tom Smith
Award-winning saxophonist Tom Smith has established himself as a performer of flair and passion, working with the likes of Grammy Award-winner Maria Schneider, Donny McCaslin (David Bowie) and more. As well as his fluent and impressive playing Tom is also a well-respected composer and arranger, most notably with his own Tom Smith Big Band. In addition, he’s released two critically acclaimed albums, “Gecko,” produced by Tim Garland and “A Year In The Life” with his big band. For his show tonight Tom has put together an impressive lineup of Will Barry-piano, Calum Gourlay-bass & Darren Beckett-drums to perform music he describes as “drawing inspiration from films and stories to take listeners on a journey filled with soaring melodies, gospel grooves and hard swing”. With a promise of some new material along with a choice selection of jazz standards this promises to be a fun gig.
