She may be 5’2 but there’s nothing diminutive about Emma Hatton. Equally at home in front of thousands as she is in an intimate setting, her soaring voice and transformative abilities as a performer mean she has amassed a large fan base in the world of stage, having starred in the West End as Elphaba in Wicked, Eva Peron in Evita, and Grizabella in Cats. Influenced and inspired by such legends of song as Nancy Wilson, Karen Carpenter and Eva Cassidy, Emma is as comfortable singing blues as she is soul, jazz and country. An invitation to sing with Nile Rogers for Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber at The Other Palace saw her find her sweet spot between musical theatre and her jazz and soul roots. Most notably, she joined the world famous musical collective PostModern Jukebox as a lead vocalist on many of their international tours and played a sold out solo show at Cheltenham Jazz Festival. Alongside this, Emma supported Jools Holland on his UK tour which led to an invitation to open for him at The Royal Albert Hall. Emma has independently released two critically acclaimed debut EP's with Anthony Strong, 'Merry Christmas, Darling x' and 'Thirty Three and a Third', the latter released on vinyl, both of which went straight to Number 1 on the iTunes Jazz and Blues chart. This evening, joined by her quintet, Emma brings her versatility as a vocalist and storyteller to present ‘Something To Talk About’ a lovingly curated celebration of the music and 50-plus year career of singer-songwriter Bonnie Raitt.
