A Centennial Celebration for Charlie Parker - "Bird is the Word"

This coming Saturday, February 8th, be sure to join us in celebrating the undying 100 year legacy of alto saxophonist Charlie Parker, who was among the creators of bebop and progenitors of modern jazz. Expect a night filled with brilliant swinging jazz, lead by one of Britain's most accomplished post bop saxophonists, Alex Garnett, who brings his tribute to the great bebop icon, “Bird is the Word”, to the Club. The band features some of the most established and respected musicians on the scene, who collectively aim to bring the hard swinging bebop tradition of days gone by into a more contemporary 21st century setting. Alex will be joined on the bandstand by the impressive rhythm section of Leon Greening-piano, Dave Chamberlain-bass and Matt Skelton-drums.
