This quintet features the powerhouse frontline of trumpeter Quentin Collins, known for his work with the internationally acclaimed Kyle Eastwood band, the highly regarded Vasilis Xenopoulos (Shez Raja) on sax and the golden touch of pianist Rob Barron (Al Jarreau, Paloma Faith). Added to this is virtuosic bassist Matyas Hofecker and rock-solid drummer Matt Home. The band’s vision is to carry on the lineage of groups like Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers and contemporary bop heroes One For All, presenting a sound that respects the straight-ahead tradition of the hard-bop era whilst also bringing it up to date for today’s audience. Expect tight swinging grooves from some of the best players around.
