Alcyona Mick Trio
Alcyona Mick is a London-based pianist and composer works regularly with a wide array of artists and bands, including the London Jazz Orchestra, Brigitte Beraha, Randolph Matthews, Yazz Ahmed, Ingrid & Christine Jensen & Jerry Dammers. A Parliamentary Jazz award nominee, she has performed worldwide for many years with Anglo-Egyptian vocalist Natacha Atlas as well as two seasons of a music TV series for TRT in Istanbul with vocalist Mircan Kaya. A talented composer she has written music for documentary, short film and TV and won an award for best soundtrack at the Anima Mundi festival, Brazil. Tonight she will be appearing at the Club with her trio, featuring Conor Chaplin-bass & Paul Clarvis-drums, performing a mix of standards, McCoy Tyner, Bud Powell, Thelonius Monk and Duke Ellington infusions, some of her excellent original music…and a little bit of Brazilian Samba!
