Helen Louise Jones
A lovely vocalist with a multi-faceted musical background, Helen Louise Jones studied jazz and gospel singing at Goldsmiths College before moving on to sing with John Miller's “Glenn Miller Band". Further developing her love of jazz and improvisation she started listening to the music of Miles & George Benson and her musical curiosity then led her to explore a variety of other genres. After moving to India, though continuing her passion for jazz, she was soon working with Eastern and world music projects as well. Now, 10 years later and back in London, Helen has been performing with a selection of ensembles, including the likes of Little Bighorn and her own group, the Eastern-influenced Citraflection. For this show, however, she will be going back to her roots, performing a classic mainstream jazz repertoire, supported by the excellent trio of Chris Jerome-piano, Miles Danso-bass and Sophie Alloway-drums.
