Ineza Quintet Photo 1

A Rwandan-born Belgian vocalist & songwriter, Ineza’s star is rising rapidly in the jazz world and beyond. Since graduating from Trinity Laban Conservatoire, her enticing blend of jazz and soul has met the moment & is captivating audiences and critics alike. Along with regular performances in London with her quintet, Ineza has toured with award-winning singer-songwriter Tom Odell and the Down for the Count Orchestra, starred as 'Valaida' in the original cast of the London immersive theatre experience The Greatest Night of the Jazz Age and is a member of the acclaimed ensemble, the London Vocal Project. Her two previous EP’s caught the attention of BBC Introducing, Fresh on the Net and their ilk and now, with the release of her debut full-length record “IBUKA”, her profile is reaching new heights, with Jumoke Fashola of BBC Radio London saying “this is wonderful” while Gilles Peterson of BBC Radio 6 says, “I love this”.  Described by Ineza as a “deeply personal story”, it is dedicated to her adoptive mother, Francine, and reflects Ineza’s journey from Rwanda to Belgium and now London, channeling themes of loss, healing, and growth into a powerful artistic statement. An authentic talent that we are excited to welcome to the Club along with her band: Michael Lack-sax, Rob Brockway-piano, Ben Crane-bass & Kuba Miazga-drums.

“Channeling the past yet still sounding so fresh” Soweto Kinch/BBC Radio 3; “The first abiding impression of Ineza, is quite how good and how gentle her way with songs can be…” UK Jazz News; “A musician that brings something distinct, remarkable and exciting…” Cerys Matthews, BBC Radio 2
