Born in Slovakia, singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Jana Varga arrived in London after training and performing in France and the US. Her beautifully crafted, melodically-driven original compositions harken back to the glory days of the singer-songwriter (in the tradition of Janis Ian and James Taylor), while also reflecting her deep love of roots music, gospel and blues. Lately working and recording tracks for her upcoming debut album with legendary producer Fred Mollin (Jimmy Webb) and top UK players including guitarist Tony Remy (Sarah Jane Morris, Annie Lennox) and keyboardist Ross Stanley (Liane Carroll, Jim Mullen), Jana’s talent is without question. For this 606 debut show, Jana will be joined by Tony and Ross, along with bassist Joe Downard and drummer Simon Lea.
