“A singing sensation… her voice is amazing…a class act”
Bebop Spoken Here
A talented singer inspired by the likes of Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone and Billie Holiday, Jo Harrop possesses a wonderfully clear, controlled and expressive voice. Already highly experienced she includes performances at venues such as the Jazz Cafe, Royal Albert Hall, the Sage Gateshead, Pizza Express and St. Martins In The Fields and has been featured on the likes of Courtney Pines' Radio 2 show 'Jazz Crusade', Jazz FM and BBC Radio London. Tonight Jo will be bringing a special ‘Festive Edition” of her "Time And Place” project to the Club, a collection of original songs composed by the outstanding young pianist Paul Edis, alongside arrangements of classics from the Great American Songbook, inspired by the themes of Time and Place. Jo and Paul have also written new songs over the summer in lockdown, so you’ll hear those too. As well as Paul on piano, the band includes the multi-award-winning Tony Kofi-sax, with Geoff Gascoyne-bass and Pete Adam Hill-drums. The music is promises to be a wonderful evening for anyone who likes their jazz hip, swinging and heartfelt.
