“"She has a seductive voice and natural talent for singing"”

El Periodico (Spain)

Hailing from Belo Horizonte, Brazil, Luna Cohen’s music represents and reflects the rich diversity of Brazilian culture. Over the past two decades, the London-based vocalist, described as “one of the most interesting singers and composers among the rising stars of MPB - música popular brasileira" (Time Out Barcelona), has perfected her craft and earned a spot in the foreground of the jazz scene. 2022 welcomes the release of Luna's bold new EP, 'Samba Que Balança Não Cai', following her four albums to date which includes the Enderrock Award-winning Estrada do Sol (2012). Luna has appeared at Ronnie Scott's, the Royal Albert Hall, the Jazz Cafe, EFG London Jazz Festival and not least, performing on many occasions with the Club's 'house' band, Samara. Djangada Band, Sam Watts-piano, Matheus Nova-bass & Marcinho Pereira-drums, is a Brazilian rhythm section that seamlessly blends traditional and Afro-Brazilian grooves with funky electric basslines, all infused with a jazz aesthetic. Together, Luna & Djangada deliver a captivating fusion of Luna's original compositions and exhilarating interpretations of Brazil's greatest musical icons. Prepare to be enchanted as the stage becomes a gateway to a world where music knows no boundaries.
