Lunchtime Special: Fleur Stevenson
Sunday 22nd September 2019 - 1:30 pm
Music Charge: £10.00
After establishing a reputation on her local scene Fleur Stevenson went on to gain her Associate Trinity College London (ATCL) diploma in jazz singing and performance with distinction. Since then, under the tutelage of one of the queens of British jazz, Claire Martin, she has developed a real grasp of the jazz idiom, a delightful voice and a sparkling presentation. She enjoys collaborations with many wonderful musicians and has performed at numerous high profile venues across the UK, including Ronnie Scott's and Pizza Express, Soho. Today Fleur will be performing material from her debut album "Follow Me", which will include, in addition to the well-loved standards that she does so well, “obscure vintage pop songs arranged in a jazz style, including a samba arrangement of King Crimson’s “I Talk to the Wind”. Joining Fleur on the stand will be her pianist/MD/arranger Pete Billington, the outstanding tenor saxophonist Brandon Allen and bassist Nick Pugh. Excellent straight ahead jazz from one of the UK’s upcoming jazz singers.
"Fleur Stevenson is a wonderful singer with a great musical ear and natural jazz feel'' Claire Martin OBE
