Lunchtime Special: Lauren Bush
Canadian expat Lauren Bush relocated to London to pursue music on a new level a decade ago. Prior to that she had travelled extensively around North America notching up some impressive performance credits, including opening shows for Maynard Ferguson, performing at the Victoria International Jazz Festival (BC) and singing with Bobby McFerrin at the Idaho Jazz Festival. Following her move to the UK she released her debut album, 'All My Treasures' and was a Top 5 Finalist in the Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition. Lauren’s music reflects a deep connection to lyric-driven storytelling, with influences ranging from classic jazz vocalists to modern poets. Today, returning to the Club after her successful Canadian tour last summer she will be joined by Liam Dunachie-piano, Dave Manington-bass & Dave Ingamells-drums for an afternoon of reimagined standards and original music. Expect songs drawn from all three of Lauren’s acclaimed albums, including her latest release “Tide Rises”, delivered with warmth and swing.
