“one of the most exciting on the current UK scene”

All About Jazz

8:00pm                   MEG MORLEY Australian-born pianist Meg Morley has been deemed an 'Exceptional Talent' by Arts Council England and we are excited with this, her 606 club debut. Having been classically trained she plays and composes music for a range of artistic genres, including dance (Australian Ballet, Royal Ballet), silent film (Il Cinema Ritrovato, Le Giornate del Cinema Muto, Flatpack Festival, London Cinema Museum), jazz and electronic music. In 2017, Meg released two debut recordings, the first her solo piano EP, ‘Through the Hours’ and the latter an album she recorded with her group the Meg Morley Trio, ‘Can’t Get Started’. The diversity of the musicians' individual backgrounds is one of the interesting elements that make up this unique group. Self-taught British bassist Richard Sadler plays in various styles and with musicians such as Sam Kelly (Cymande), Ray Davies (Kinks), -ISQ, Paul Weller and John Crawford Quintet as well as taking to the stage at major UK festivals such as Glastonbury and London Jazz. Emiliano Caroselli is an Italian drummer who, although having his feet firmly set in the jazz style, draws his musical influence from a range of other genres including pop and rock. His playing is also inspired by Cuban music after studying in Havana for three years. This group is all about interplay, and was hailed, in All About Jazz, as “one of the most exciting on the current UK scene”.
