A founding member of pop/funk band Level 42, singer, keyboardist & songwriter Mike Lindup has had a staggeringly successful career. His incredible achievements as part of Level 42 include 13 albums recorded between 1981 and 1994, worldwide album sales of over 15 million, top ten singles including “Lessons in Love” and “Something About You”, and an incredible array of live dates at prestigious venues around the world. Described by Gilles Peterson as “one of his all-time favourite vocalists,” Mike is also a respected solo artist, with four studio albums showcasing his talents as a composer and performer, while his collaborations with musical icons such as Eric Clapton, Dominic Miller, and Da Lata further cement his legacy as a world-class musician. Now, Mike is starting an exciting new chapter with the Mike Lindup Trio - a fresh live project that celebrates the timeless jazz trio format of keys, bass, and drums. Joining Mike are two extraordinary musicians: Yolanda Charles MBE on bass, an internationally acclaimed bassist and songwriter, known for her work with Hans Zimmer, Paul Weller, BB King and many more, and John Sam on drums, whose exceptional rhythm playing brings an essential pulse to the trio's sound. Mike hasn’t played here at the 606 leading his own band for some years now so we are excited to welcome him as part of his intimate Club tour!
