Pete Horsfall
“Truly individual and refreshing”
Jazz in Europe
Singer, trumpet player, songwriter and producer Pete Horsfall is a wonderful musician, probably best known at the Club for his work with Kansas Smitty’s, of which he is a founding member. He has performed at most major UK jazz venues and festivals, including Ronnie Scott’s & the Barbican and has made numerous international appearances, including Paris' Duc Des Lombards as well as a week in New York City at Jazz at Lincoln Center. His album, ‘Nighthawks’, was acclaimed by the Guardian as ‘ravishing’, and he's also worked with artists including including DJ Premier, De La Soul, Kurt Elling, Jamie Cullum, Guy Barker and Friendly Fires. Tonight he returns to the 606 with his outstanding ensemble featuring Joe Webb-piano, Lorenzo Morabito-bass & Sam Jesson-drums to “explore new material from their deep and eclectic engagement with the jazz tradition".
