Sam Dunn Quartet Photo 1

A masters graduate of the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, guitarist Sam Dunn has been carving a singular path through the London jazz scene and beyond as a band leader and in-demand accompanist. Since graduating his CV counts a considerable list of collaborations, with long-established names including Alan Barnes, Dave Newton and Al Wood, and notable voices of his own generation, such as Nadim Teimoori and Jon Shenoy. Sam's playing is informed by the legacy of great guitarists like Pat Martino, Joe Pass and Wes Montgomery and this gig will be a mixture of burning originals, evergreen classics and deft improvisations from some of London's finest musicians. Joined by the superb pianist Rob Barron, bassist and vocalist Charlie Pine, and drummer Dave Ingamells, we are thrilled to be hosting Sam for his first time as a bandleader at the 606 for an evening of classic, swinging guitar led jazz.

"Sam Dunn is a wonderful musician on all levels. He has a wide, interesting repertoire, beautiful sound, and is equally compelling with ballads and burners. And with his fast ears and quick wit, he's great fun on the bandstand" - Judy Carmichael, US Pianist; "Keep playing those right chord changes, you sound great!" - George Wein, Newport Jazz Festival Founder
