Born in Israel but now based in Los Angeles, pianist/arranger/composer Tamir Hendelman and his trio take on a fresh mix of jazz standards, the Great American Songbook, and Tamir’s own Israeli roots in his first London trio appearance in over a decade. The longtime pianist in the Jeff Hamilton Trio and the Clayton-Hamilton Jazz Orchestra, Tamir has formerly been seen in London with Barbra Streisand, Roberta Gambarini and in duo with James Pearson (his last performance as part of the 2019 Steinway Festival).  Featuring music from his US chart topping recordings "Destinations" and "Playground", this 606 show will include Tamir’s arrangements of classics by Charlie Parker, Keith Jarrett and Maurice Ravel as well as his own originals. Accompanied by Los Angeles bassist Alex Frank (Michael Bublé, Gregory Porter) and Parisian drummer Germain Cornet (Harry Allen, Nicholas Bearde), this is a rare chance to see this exceptional, world-class artist in the intimate atmosphere of the 606.

"His playing... was so sensitive, introspective and captivating, that you could literally hear a pin drop in an audience of some 500 people." LA Jazz Scene; “What increasingly distinguishes Hendelman is his gift for imaginative arranging...he will compose an introduction that makes it difficult to predict what follows, but seems perfectly suited-even organic-once the tune begins.” All About Jazz; "Hendelman's playing is firmly in the tradition of Peterson and Green, particularly in regard to its strength and swing, but his touch and use of dynamics... displayed an individual dimension of his talent that warrants greater exposure."
