“Minton...one of the leading contemporary harpists in Europe”

Artistic Director, Cambridge Jazz Festival

Originating from Melbourne, Australia, jazz harpist and vocalist Tara Minton relocated to London in 2011, since when she has become one of the leading figures in UK contemporary harp circles. Tonight Tara is bringing to the Club for its debut performance her latest project “Where the Ocean meets the Sky”, a brand-new collaboration with saxophonist and composer Nick Willsher performing music inspired by the skies and oceans. Combining influences from folk and ambient with jazz and beyond, the music draws upon a broad mix of sound-worlds, themes and images. The band features Jonny Mansfield-vibes, Lorenzo Morabito-bass and Jonah Evans-drums who combine with Tara’s harp and vocals and Nick’s saxophone to provide a rich palette from which to explore the depths (and heights) of the compositions. As Tara says “It's going to be a great show - the debut of two new sets of music with a killing band. We can't wait!"
