Originating from Melbourne, Australia, jazz harpist and vocalist Tara Minton relocated to London in 2011, since when she has become one of the leading figures in UK contemporary harp circles. Tonight Tara is bringing to the Club her swinging band, featuring Award-winning pianist Phil Merriman, Ed Babar-bass and Dave Ingamells-drums, along with her Special Guest, the world-renowned Nay master, percussionist and composer, Faris Ishaq. From Bethlehem via Berklee USA, Faris is a pioneer of the Nay (a Middle Eastern woodwind instrument), fusing traditional Arabic music with contemporary jazz and improvisation. This is a wholly unique combination which truly encapsulates the term “World Music”. Highly recommended.
