Branded a "Canadian jazz legend" by Petroc Trelawny on BBC Radio 3, Sandra-Mae Lux makes a triumphant return to the 606 after the release of her latest album 'Seasons in Jazz.' An award-winning songwriter, vocalist and excellent saxophonist Sandra was widely regarded as one of the most talented musicians of her generation in her native Canada. On moving to London she first made her mark with her debut album "Happily Ever Now" (2020) which explored jazz, funk, and soul grooves including the stand-out “I’m Still Here” which caught the attention of Gilles Peterson (BBC Radio 6). However, in the last couple of years Sandra-Mae has gone back to her jazz roots, concentrating on her songwriting as well as performing, creating an outstanding album of brand-new, contemporary, American Songbook style material, the aforementioned "Seasons in Jazz", which she launched to enthusiastic reviews at the 606 in 2025. Packed full of swinging numbers bound to raise a smile, atmospheric ballads to bring a tear and everything in between, it's a delightful mix of jazz standards, old and new and perfect for this romantic occasion. Backed by UK jazz giants Mike Gorman-piano, Sebastiaan de Krom-drums and Calum Gourlay-bass, this is a rare opportunity to see Sandra in this intimate setting as she doesn't play live that often... a night that even Cupid himself wouldn't miss!
